Andrew Kleist, MD, PhD

Andrew Kleist received his MD and PhD degrees at the Medical College of Wisconsin and completed his Pediatrics Residency at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland.

Jessica Barsano, DO

Jessica Barsano received her DO degree at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed her Obstetrics and Gynecology residency at Wayne State University in Michigan. Her interests are in developmental and reproductive genetics. She is a categorical Medical Genetics resident. 

Evonne McArthur

Evonne McArthur, MD, PhD

Evonne McArthur received her MD and PhD degrees from Vanderbilt University School of Medicine. She is our first combined Internal Medicine-Medical Genetics resident. 

Hilary Bright

Hilary Bright, MD

Hilary Bright received her MD degree from Renaissance School of Medicine at Stony Brook University in New York. She is a combined Pediatrics-Medical Genetics resident. 

 

Sam Finlayson

Samuel Finlayson, MD, PhD

Sam Finlayson received his MD and PhD degrees from Harvard Medical School.  His graduate work was designing, implementing and analyzing machine learning algorithms for use in biomedicine.  He has volunteered as a medical interpreter for Spanish speaking patients in a free community clinic, and on the research advisory committee for the Hydrocephalus Association. He is a combined Pediatrics-Medical Genetics resident.  

Jonathan Marquez

Jonathan Marquez, MD, PhD

Jonathan Marquez received his MD and PhD from the Yale University School of Medicine. His research has used sequencing and high throughput animal modeling to evaluate molecular pathogenesis based on variants in novel genes leading to congenital heart disease, congenital kidney anomalies, and congenital hydrocephalus. His interests are in using developmental biology as a platform for learning more about individual patients’ genetic differences. He is a combined Pediatrics-Medical Genetics resident.

Al Conner

Edward "Al" Conner, MD

Al Conner received his MD at Mercer University School of Medicine. He completed a residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Virginia. His interests are in cancer and prenatal genetics. 

Teodora Kolarova

Teo Kolarova, MD

Teodora Kolarova received her MD degree from Harvard Medical School. She then completed Obstetrics and Gynecology Residency, and Maternal-Fetal Medicine Fellowship at the University of Washington. Her interests involve the maternal-fetal care of pregnant patients with complex genetic disorders as well as prenatal diagnosis.

Arthur Lenahan

Arthur Lenahan, MD, MPH

Arthur Lenahan received his MD and Master’s in Public Health from Oregon Health and Sciences University in Portland, OR. His research focus is in neurogenetics, health systems, quality improvement, health equity, and preventive care in clinical genetics.

Merin Jose, MD

Merin Jose received her MBBS from Madras Medical College, India. She volunteered as a research trainee in the lipid genomics lab for one year where her work focused on genetic aspects of familial hypercholesterolemia and inheritable cardiovascular conditions. She completed her residency in Internal Medicine at Saint Peter's University Hospital, NJ. She is interested in adult genetics and expanding its reach to all patient populations.

Alexandra Keefe, MD, PhD

Alex Keefe received her MD and PhD degrees from the University of Utah School of Medicine.  Her thesis examined the role of adult muscle stem cells (satellite cells) in muscle homeostasis and regeneration.  She completed the Pediatrics residency at Seattle Children's Hospital.  Her interests are in Pediatric Genetics, and rapid exome sequencing.

Wei-Liang Chen

Wei-Liang Chen, MD

Dr. Chen received his M.D. from China Medical University in Taiwan before his training in Pediatric, Child Neurology, and Clinical Neurophysiology at Medical College of Wisconsin. He is a board-certified neurologist specialized in Child Neurology and Epilepsy. Dr. Chen's research focus is on neurogenetics and gene therapy for epilepsies.

Samuel Huang

Samuel Huang, MD

Dr. Huang received his Bachelor's degree in Molecular Biology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He received his M.D. from the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health. He completed a Pediatric residency at the Marshfield Clinic.

Danny Miller

Danny E Miller, MD, PhD

Dr. Miller, whose parents are both deaf, received his MD and PhD degrees from the University of Kansas. For his PhD Dr. Miller used genome sequencing to study chromosome rearrangements, to understand how DNA breaks are repaired during meiosis, and for genome assembly. Broadly, he is interested in using new technology to understand the genetics of disease.

Amanda Freed

Amanda Freed, MD

Dr. Freed received her Bachelorʼs degree in Cellular and Molecular Biology at University of Michigan before receiving her M.D.  from David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA. While at UCLA, she did research in the genetics of hyperlipidemia. She then completed a Combined Internal Medicine/Pediatrics residency at Yale New Haven Hospital. There, she developed an interested in transitional care for young adults with genetic disorders. She is also interested in teaching and mentoring undergraduate and medical students.
